So today i decided to download the game on to my laptop thats unfortunately running windows 8. The game installed normally but wont start. I changed the compatibility mode to xp sp3 and tried to run it as an administrator but its still refusing to execute. I've fiddled with this for a few hours now and i didnt find any useful information anywhere. So i've pretty much run out of ideas now. Has anyone actually managed to run pttm on win 8? There were no problems on win 7 with it but thats a completely different story anyway.

I use to depend on "Loneworlf" (MIA) to get me such info. Top has many conflictions trying to run it on win7, I can't imagine win8..... I'll ask him when he wakes up, but for now, go check over "majorgeeks" in the links, where maybe a .dll back-dater, or emulator might work......

Maybe i should just throw the laptop in a bathtub. Windows 8 basically throws every man made achievement 20 years backwards. How did they ever let this on the market? Its like (if you know) the game Big Rigs. If i had to compare windows 8 to something it would be that game.

I hear you man. I've been pissing a fit, since they discontinued support for XP, I might trust win7, but at this rate, I'm seriously thinking of switching to linux......
Bill Gates has a purpose or two on this planet..... get rid of the operational public computer, and the people using them......

Haha yeah. But actually im happy with windows 7. I never really had any problems with it. Windows 8 on the other hand is a whole different story. I cant think of anything good to say about it. If this is the direction im also going to stop using windows. I might just give windows 10 a shot only because its a free upgrade.

I wouldn't trust 10 as far as I could throw it, especially if they're handing it out for free. lol

HOLY SCHNIKEYS!!! He lives!! lol Anywho, I'm runnin 8 on this laptop, since we started the forum back up alittle over a year ago. Ive got the CD version, and patch 1.07. With that said, take a look-see at this screenshot. Thats how my PTTM is setup. All I did was install the game, then patched it. and it ran fine. Double check your properties tab, and make sure yours shows the same as mine. Any other probs lemme know. Welcome back "Ace" :-) Attachments:
