The most simple to edit, and explain. Here is a cargo file.
================================================ extdefs "/defs/cargo_base.def"
def cargo:cargo_base {
name:"Auctioned-Repoes" trailer:"sp_car" variant:"0" ico: "cars.mat" income:1 prestige:50 ==============================================
1. Keep the file name simple, so you can remember it one, and you won't run into a bunch of typo errors latter in the depot.
2. whatever you call the load in the def, can be whatever you want, I for one keep it in the theme, but that is up to you.
3. trailer: what trailer you want this load on, again, spelling is crucial, using the trailer's folder name, not def name in it's def.
4. variant: what skin from the trailer it uses, if trailer has multiple skins, otherwise, that one is always "0"
5. ico: this is the icon, the bubble over the trailer in game displays. Keep it themed, or whatever, all up to you here.
6. income: what you want the load to pay per mile. Game default is "1" = $1.00 a mile.
7. prestige: This one has to do with how you rank against the other drivers in the economy. Higher the number, the better loads you'll get when you show up to a depot, and it boosts the pay as well. Lower number, all will be the opposite.

creating or adding cargoes with overweight tags example:: ------------ extdefs "/defs/cargo_base.def" def cargo:cargo_base { name: "@@cn_excv@@" trailer:"lb_excv: lb_excv1" variant:"0: 0" ico: "excavator.mat" income:4 can_overweight:1 <~~~~~ prestige:50 } ------------ some loads in PTTM will already have this ( can_overweight ) in the cargo.DEF.file you never want to adjust the number next to this line or you will go broke paying the DOT fines

Nice little guide you have there. Wish I had it when I began. Trial and error abound, know what I mean?
