Basic Engine file.
================================================
extdefs "/makes/acc_base.def"
def accessory:/accessory_base {
name:"Detroit Silvertip 475 475hp"
type:"engine"
shop_type:"engine"
torque:2000
cons:1.0
power:57
handling:2.35
maint:18.6
prestige:9.8
}
==============================================
1. Like any other part, as far as "name, whatever you want.
2. "Torque" this puppy is tricky, and you can't tell much differance with the power rating, until you get up into the top end of the power band. I.E.= 70mph, in gear 11, at 2,500rpms. High torque will still be slamming you back in the seat, as it keeps grabbing gears. I could be wrong, but I also think Torque controls how fast you shift through the gears too, or I could have that one backwards with the power rating again. Either way, play with the numbers until you get what you wanted.
3. "cons" This is your fuel consumption rating. Hard to get a real big change out of it, by default most trucks get somewhere between 6-9mpg's. You can also add one more line, not listed on this def. it is as follows.
tank:300 <-------default setting, give or take a gallon or two. Always listed under "cons"
pushing that to 800, or 999, will surely get you to Cali and back from Philly, and never stopping for fuel, if you so choose.
4. The power and handling, again is up to you, read over what I've already said about them in the "transmissions" thread, just food for thought.
