We'de like to talk to someone, who is good in mapping in the game. Mainly the depots, remodeling them, replacing trailer spawn points, repainting....... Anybody know a thing or two here?

Yeah. Cargo depots in pttm are prefabs so they cant be edited. Its possible to create a new depot model and try to place it over the old one.

As Blackace said, the depots can't be modified as they are prefabs. You can import the odd shipping container from the docks in but other than that, not much. However, a new model could be created from scratch and placed in the map making mode where the normal one would be.
Would be a bit of a hassle though, I've tried the map making myself and didn't have the patience for it. It was like trying to learn photoshop lol.

Using the map editor isnt really that hard. But trying to create a large map with no flaws or errors is a bit tricky. Couple years ago i started making a detailed map but it screwed up at some point since it was giving strange kind of errors.

Maybe I just didn't give it enough time then. It was fun but creating a map, or even editing it to an extent is a big task. Possible, but time consuming.

We understand that fine, and yes, entirely new models need to be created and imported, for depots, gas stations, etc. My question is, how do I make a trailer spawn, on a new depot model?

The only likely place to get such tool is either from the developers or get someone to make a zmod or 3dsmax filter for it. And the developers wont release any development tools if they even happened to have them anymore. But i dont think anyone has made one yet. I've never even seen edited prefabs.

Its been a very long time since I have been into "Pttm" Anything...
I am sure this will confuse most. It was one way you could do a dock.
But anyways,i think its the log yard that you can use pretty easily...And just place it where ya company would be and then obviously you cant just have any random dock.. But you can alpha edit the textures to be invisible that are tied to the log yard and make everything invisible. It will still have the collisions Obviously...But this will give you a dock you can place anywhere and have any buildings around it you like. You will just have to work around the logs collisions...maybe set your building over them...or just have a empty parking spot or two.
I am sure that is confusing and what not, Just look into it and you will see what I am saying and you will get the concept.
You could do this with other docks as well...You will just have to be careful in map editor that you do not forget where the collisions are block your self off from the road.

I have tried all kinds of programs to open the pbd. extension file... the only programs I have found that is said to open & view/edit these files is for MAC and I don't have one...

Just for grins, how bought you let me know the name of that mac program, if it comes to you. Nothing an emulator on windows can't fix, even if for a long shot.
